Questions About Choosing the Right Database
Each of the databases listed above has a brief description of what they cover. It includes the year that the citations date back to, number of journals included, a link to a title list, how many of those titles are full-text, and what kinds of subjects are covered.

Questions you need to ask yourself are:

  • Does it cover my subject or topic area?
  • Do I want citations and/or full-text?
  • Do I want a smaller set of journals or something larger and broader?
  • Are my needs immediate or do I have time before it's due?

While you can freely use any of the library databases, these three are used the most heavily. Which one you start with depends on your own needs and preferences. Either way you approach it, CINAHL should usually be used at some point in the process to make sure that you've conducted a thorough search.
