Japanese Nurse Leaders to Visit Saint Anthony College of Nursing

ROCKFORD, Ill—Faculty and staff from Saint Anthony College will welcome a delegation from Japan this month as part of its Second International Forum: Advancing Nursing Leadership Through Global Collaboration.  The forum is Wednesday, July 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Saint Anthony College of Nursing Guilford Square Campus located at 698 Featherstone Road.

Saint Anthony College of Nursing recently formed an international partnership through the Global Nursing Initiative with the Japanese Red Cross International College of Nursing in Kyushu, Japan.  The unique collaboration will facilitate student and faculty scholarship and advancement of nursing roles in global health.   The Japanese nurse leaders from will be presenting to local nurse educators and leaders on community-based group home/hospice care and disaster relief.   In addition to the forum, the Japanese visitors will be in Rockford for two weeks learning more about the role of Clinical Nurse Leader® which is a new concept for their country.

The forum is a continuing education opportunity for local nurses.  Cost is $20 in advance and $25 at the door.   For more information on the forum, go to www.sacn.edu.
