Transferring Credits

Saint Anthony College of Nursing (SACN) encourages all high school applicants to contact SACN with questions about transferring.

SACN will accept Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) Degrees to satisfy the general education core requirements for the program! Applicants still need to complete the SACN nursing prerequisites: Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Nutrition, Statistics, and Developmental (Lifespan) Psychology. Please Note: Associate of Applied Science degrees will not satisfy SACN general education requirements.

Transfer guides are available to use when registering for courses at many local colleges. If a transfer guide is unavailable for your college, refer to the list of prerequisites or ask the SACN Admissions Office for assistance.

If applying with college credits, transcripts may be submitted and a transfer evaluation will be completed by the admissions staff to assist students in planning their course schedule. Because SACN is an upper division program, all students transfer into the college after completing at least 64 credits.

Please make sure the course work you take at other colleges and universities meets the requirements for admission to SACN.

No grade below a "C" may be transferred.

To be eligible for acceptance by the admission committee, updated transcripts must be sent after any additional coursework is completed.

President's Scholarship

The President's Scholarship is a tuition waiver of $500 per semester, renewable contingent on availability of funds and maintaining a minimum 2.50 GPA. Awardees are therefore eligible to receive up to $2,000 total off of their tuition during their time at SACN.

Deadlines

Early Entry applicants must complete the application process and be accepted before the end of their first semester of college.

For most applicants, that will mean meeting the February 15th deadline during their last semester of high school or the September 15th deadline following their high school graduation.

Delays

Students requesting a delay of their application to a future semester must submit a written request to the SACN Admissions Office specifying the future semester. They will then become regular BSN applicants and not eligible for the Early Entry Program.

Acceptance

Students are granted acceptance, pending completion of the prerequisite courses.

Decisions regarding the acceptance of each applicant are made by the Undergraduate Admissions and Progression Committee based upon the fulfillment of admission requirements.

Saint Anthony College of Nursing conducts its program and implements policies on a non-discriminatory basis with respect to race, age, religion, gender, national origin, marital status, military service, status upon military discharge, disability or handicap, and creed. SACN retains the right to accept the most highly qualified applicants.

To enroll in classes as a degree seeking student, an applicant must have completed at least 64 semester hours in the required prerequisites from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and a 2.7 GPA for the nursing prerequisite science courses (anatomy and physiology, microbiology and chemistry).
